In a disaster or public health emergency, we will utilize this website and other social media platforms to keep residents informed and to provide necessary direction to ensure their health and safety during the event.
Additionally, we will work with local, state, and federal partners to develop and implement measures to continue providing public health services during an event. This includes utilizing our partners to help disseminate important information when communication systems may be compromised. With this in mind, we encourage residents to bookmark links to this webpage as well as county and state emergency preparedness websites (See below).
Emergency Preparedness
The Bear River Health Department is dedicated to emergency preparedness and planning is essential for al members of the community, including community members with a disability. Emergencies can happen suddenly and without notice. By coming together as a community and getting ready ahead of time, we can all be better prepared. Taking simple steps now to prepare can help you and your family feel more secure and confident if a natural disaster or other unexpected event occurs.
Emergency Alerts
All three counties served by the Bear River Health Department (Box Elder, Cache and Rich) share a notification system that will send you messages in an emergency. In the past, the counties used a system called Code Red. Today, the counties use Everbridge. You can sign up for emergency by clicking on the buttons below.
People with disabilities & Other Access Needs
The State of Utah hosts a Special Needs Registry for people with access and functional needs. While this is not a substitute for personal and family preparedness, registering on this website helps emergency managers better plan and communicate with people who may have specific needs in a disaster or public health emergency. Click on the button below to register.
Emergency Preparation Ideas
The Bear River Health Department held a series of workshops to help its employees prepare at home. These videos can also assist anyone looking to enhance their disaster preparedness.
Volunteers
The Bear River Health Department hosts a volunteer program called the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). Volunteers, both with and without medical backgrounds, are pre-identified, pre-credentialed, and prepared to respond when needed. There is no obligation once you sign up.
