Be a Quitter — We Love That!

Join the Great American Smoke out and Take the First Step Toward Better Health

The Great American Smoke Out happens every year on the third Thursday of November, this year that is Thursday November 20th. It’s a day to encourage anyone who uses tobacco or vapes to take that first step toward quitting.

At the Bear River Health Department, we want our community to be happy, healthy, and thriving. Quitting tobacco is one of the best ways to get there. Whether you smoke, vape, or use other tobacco products, your body starts healing as soon as you quit — and every day without nicotine makes a difference.

We know quitting isn’t easy. Nicotine addiction is real, and the process can be challenging. But you don’t have to do it alone. There’s no shame in trying, and help is available. Professional counselors can provide free, confidential support to help you succeed:

These programs connect you to trained counselors who will guide you through each step of your quit journey — offering encouragement, resources, and real strategies that work.

This November, take part in the Great American Smokeout and make a choice for your health, your future, and your community.
